CIKM Test of Time Award

 

The Test of Time Award is given for CIKM papers published at least ten years ago, and that have had an important and sustained impact on the research community.

CIKM 2017

At CIKM 2017 in Singapore, the Inaugural CIKM Test of Time Award was given to:

Sue Dumais, John Platt, David Heckerman, Mehran Sahami, “Inductive Learning Algorithms and Representations for Text Categorization”, Proceedings of the Seventh International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM '98) pages 148-155.

The CIKM Test of Time award committee for 2017:

At CIKM 2018 in Turin, the CIKM Test of Time Award was given to two papers:

T. Finin, R. Fritzson, D. McKay, R. McEntire. KQML as an agent communication language, Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM '94), and

D. Milne, I.H. Witten. Learning to link with Wikipedia, Proceedings of the International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM '08)

At CIKM 2019 in Beijing, the Test of Time Award was given to two papers:

Rada Mihalcea, and Andras Csomai, Wikify!: Linking Documents to Encyclopedic Knowledge, presented at CIKM 2007, and

Hao Ma, Haixuan Yang, Michael R. Lyu, and Irwin King, SoRec: Social Recommendation Using Probabilistic Matrix Factorization, presented at CIKM 2008
